A Prague-based startup was tackling cashless tipping in hospitality. Cognito served as the technical partner, building the entire platform from scratch—backend, three frontends, and integrations with POS systems and payment providers.

Three applications

Agile methodology ensured flexibility and fast integration of client feedback. We developed three standalone applications: a guest-facing tipping interface, a venue management dashboard, and a super-admin platform.

SuperAdmin creates B2B accounts, manages QR codes, analyzes data across hotels, sends invoices, and generates branded materials. Venue managers handle daily operations and staff tipping reports.

The platform supports multiple currencies (CZK, EUR), multilingual interface, and integration with Revolut and PayU payment gateways. Multi-chain hotels can manage all properties from a single dashboard.

How we
worked

From analysis through architecture design, development of three applications to production deployment on Kubernetes.

Platform analysis and architecture

We designed the entire platform architecture with scalability in mind, as it was clear from the start that the solution would need to grow with the business.

Backend na PHP/Symfony s REST API

We built a robust backend on Symfony with hexagonal architecture and a REST API serving all three frontend applications.

Frontend v Reactu

We built the user interface in React, optimized for speed and simplicity. A guest tips in under 10 seconds—scan, amount, done.

POS system and payment gateway integration

We integrated the platform with restaurant and hotel POS systems and Revolut/PayU payment gateways including Apple Pay support.

Kubernetes deployment

The entire solution runs in a containerized environment on Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and easy scaling.
