How we built

a loyalty system for restaurants

Con Gusto operates 8 restaurants and cafés, its own food delivery service, catering, and a wine wholesale business. To boost repeat visits and average spend, we developed a comprehensive loyalty platform that ties together all touchpoints—from in-restaurant dining to delivery and catering.

What was

the challenge?

The POS systems across the client's individual restaurants didn't share data. As a result, there was no unified loyalty program where customers could have an overview of all their purchases within the Con Gusto group and the associated rewards.

Our task was to create an application where each customer would have an account with an overview of all their spending across the client's venues, with easy access to benefits such as discounts or cashback.

The solution

we built

We conducted a technical analysis of existing POS and information systems across the venues, primarily the Septim system, and mapped out typical customer journeys.

Based on the analysis findings, we designed and developed a web-based loyalty system application that connects customer transactions in real time across all of the client's online and offline venues.

One account

to rule them all

To join the loyalty program, customers simply register on the Con Gusto website. The application generates a digital loyalty card that can be saved to their phone or sent as a physical version. The card contains a QR code that identifies the customer when paying at any venue.

The loyalty system matches the payment to the customer's account in real time and credits cashback. Accumulated credit can then be used for partial or full payment of their bill.

Special family

and corporate accounts

Customers can create both sub-accounts for family members, who can then draw from the main card, and independent accounts that collect bonuses separately. All account types can be topped up.

This means a parent can load a card for their child, and a company can use the cards as employee benefits, for example. The possibilities are many.

The loyalty system is directly connected to the Jíme Brno food delivery service. Customers earn rewards whether they dine in, order delivery, or use catering services.

We developed the loyalty program on our proven PHP/Symfony stack with PostgreSQL, integrated with POS systems and the Jíme Brno delivery app.

Data analysis

Solution design wireframes

We designed a digital loyalty program concept that's simple for guests and easy for staff to manage through integration with existing POS systems.

Prototype and testing

We created UI designs and prototypes for each part of the system. We tested key scenarios with real users from the Con Gusto customer base.

Development and deployment

We built the system including POS integration and internal system connectivity. We prioritized stability, real-time transaction processing, and seamless cashback calculations.
