The TN.cz portal is one of the most visited news websites in the Czech Republic, with 1.5 million monthly visitors. Speed and reliability of data visualizations were therefore critical requirements from day one.

We rapidly analyzed publicly available data sources, tested their functionality, and identified viable integration points. Within two days of receiving the brief, the first interactive visualizations were live on TN.cz.
Tracking the number
of positive cases
One of the key visualizations was an interactive chart tracking the number of positive COVID-19 cases. Users could monitor daily and cumulative counts, filter by region, and compare trends over time.
Live map
of cases by district
An interactive map let visitors check the current situation in their region. The visualization covered the distribution of cases, hospitalizations, and vaccination progress across all districts of the Czech Republic.

As the pandemic evolved, we expanded the visualizations to include a vaccination overview for the Czech Republic and the proportion of hospitalized patients relative to total case counts.
