New owner,

new e-shop

We had already been operating the e-shop for the client under the ChytráLékárna.cz brand. After the acquisition by the Lemon group, we carried out a complete technological upgrade: a new version of our Marco 2.7 e-commerce platform, a new design aligned with the group's identity, and a reworked architecture focused on performance and scalability.

The goal wasn't just a visual refresh. Lemon needed an e-shop that could keep pace with their ambition to become a major online player in the Czech pharmacy market.

Lemon2

Pharmacy e-commerce

is a regulated business

Online pharmaceutical sales are subject to strict regulation. The e-shop must communicate with the systems of the State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL), process data from the Mediox distribution system, and synchronize inventory with the Apatyka pharmacy system.

We implemented all three integrations to run reliably and in real time. Every product in the catalog must meet regulatory requirements from proper labeling to batch tracking.

Lemon3

New architecture,

measurable results

The upgrade to Marco 2.7 brought a fundamental change in the architecture of the entire solution. The new stack is 35% faster than the previous version, which directly impacted the conversion rate it increased by 28% with the same traffic volume.

The e-shop catalog contains over 25,000 products, more than double that of typical online pharmacies. The assortment includes over-the-counter medications, medical supplies and devices, cosmetics, veterinary products, and an adult wellness section. The architecture must reliably handle such a broad catalog, including complex filtering, search, and offer personalization.

"We were looking for a technology partner to help us become a major online player in the Czech pharmacy market. We operate dozens of pharmacies across the Czech Republic with tens of thousands of regular customers, and we needed an e-shop that would bring this position into the online space. In Cognito, we found a team that understands the specific requirements of pharmacy e-commerce."

Our approach

From analyzing the previous version to launching the upgraded e-shop with full integration of external systems.

1

Analysis and upgrade plan

We evaluated the state of our previous e-shop version, its dependencies on external systems, and regulatory requirements. We designed an upgrade plan that minimized operational downtime.

2

New architecture and design

We migrated to Marco 2.7 with a reworked architecture. At the same time, we designed a new look aligned with the Lemon group's identity, with a focus on conversion.

3

External system integration

We connected the e-shop to SÚKL, the Mediox distribution system, and the Apatyka pharmacy system. We implemented Luigi's Box for product offer personalization.

4

Data migration and deployment

We migrated the entire product catalog with over 25,000 items, customer accounts, and order history. We deployed the e-shop on Kubernetes infrastructure with high availability.
